Why a Blog?

I have been told that iron sharpens iron. My hope is that this blog will become a forge where God has an opportunity to challenge you and me to live a life that hones our God-given talents and gifts. The words are meant to offer thoughts on faith, motivation, family, and the various ramblings of a restless mind.  I want to see God glorified through our personal and corporate victories.

Why Finish Your Praise?

My mother had the kind of faith that was rooted in the well-plowed dirt of God’s garden. There were flowers and fruits, but there were also thistles and thorns. Through it all, she continued to praise her God. She was a woman of faith.

Momma has been gone a while now, but in the lone dream I have had of her, she was standing in her kitchen, knife in hand, telling me, “Finish Your Praise.”  To be honest, I am still a little afraid of my momma, and figured I had better do what she says.

Walking through the garden of my own faith, a garden filled with flowers and fruits, thistles and thorns, I have become convinced that the world needs to be reminded we serve a God who is worthy of our praise. It is not up to the rocks in our garden to praise our God. The time has come to do as my momma said and “Finish Your Priase.”
